Wow, these are incredible focal bead. They are made of many triangle shaped abalone pieces, laminated to an abs (plastic center) will all the tips of each triangle converging near the center of the oval bead, like a puzzle. Ovals measure about 39.5mm hole to hole by 30.5mm wide by 5.25-5.5mm thick. These look much nicer in person, the scan does not do the justice, really nice and unusual looking beads. Abalone triangle drops 16" strand
These are natural abalone in a triangle shaped side drilled drop, measuring about 14mm to 17mm tall by 14-17mm wide by 2.5mm to 3mm thick with about a .5mm hole. Size varies a tad, but within the range we describe. Nice polish and they also have a slight curve to them like a natural shell might have. Sample strand contained 17 beads. Abalone flower dangles
Here's another style of small abalone drops or dangles or whatever you'd like to call them. These are shaped like a flower with five petals, and they are finished and polished both sides of the bead. These measure about 17mm in diameter by just about 1mm thick. The drill hole is placed front to back towards the top of one of the "petals". Like ABAL-1595, these aren't pieces of abalone which have been fixed and laminated to a plastic or glass bead; the components are made entirely of abalone. ....There's an occasional small rough spot present, though in many cases, you have to run your finger over it to realize it's a rough spot. And, same as with -1595, if you flip the bead over, the rough spot disappears before your eyes. :>) These are sold per flower.
